Awesome limited blood red coloured edition, this 10" comes to show another strong bound between THE NERDS and New Hampshire's band TUNNEL RATS. Both bands unleash 4 brutal originals, and probably come up with some of their heaviest stuff to date. Scarey Records released a full-on winner again.

Ah, fuck this is brilliant, starting with the great lay out that has both bands' vocalists emblazoned into the goat of Mendes on each side and the microcosm/macrocosm pentagram. Satan seems to bless the way of THE NERDS here with 4 brutal songs, another step in their evolution from rough and fast ultra core/punk to this new sort of macho-rock and roll with grunting vocals and a professional recording that I'm sure won't disappoint anyoneÖ The TUNNEL RATS are rougher, dirtier and less powerful in sound with a much more rooted punk feeling, especially in the great sing along. I had never heard of them before, but I'm definitely impressed- especially with "Bed Full of Fat Chicks" where the vocals are nearly OI, bringing me back to the glorious HARD SKINS, though with a dirtier rock and roll feel. There are funny liner notes in the inner sleeves with the bands talking about each other and a pic with members of the two bands and Carlo Calemme of Scarey Records.

The Italian sons of Satan, The Nerds teamed up with the dukes of evil, The Tunnel Rats. Complete punkrock'n'roll destruction of whatever your fuckin' standard was on rock'n'roll! Scumfucking inferno punk that's only played by bands with balls-o'-steel! There is NO, and I repeat, NO FUCKIN' OTHER WAY TO PLAY PUNK THEN THIS WAY!!! Extremely loud, pissed off, aggressive, throatmelting and with such speed it'll make you shit your pants!! Now let it drip in your shoes and eat it!! These bands'll tell ya it's the only right thing to do! Not for all you PC-fucks! The restÖ Let your Goddamned fuckin' ears bleed!! Oh yeah, the vinyl is blood red and the Rats cover Black Sabbath. 8 songs that kill!

The Nerds from Italy is the first band out on this split story, and they play Destructo-Punk that reminds of bands like Turbonegro and the late stuff with G.G. Allin. Their stuff is o.k., but I think I like their album "...just becuse she didn't wanna fuck" a bit more, but this is almost as good as that album, so its not bad at all. I'm not sure if its The Nerds that end their session with a cover of "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath, or if its Tunnel Rats that begin their session with it....but its a cool version anyhow. Tunnel Rats is a new band for me, kind of the same style as The Nerds, but more into the late stuff with G.G. Allin, and less Turbonegro. They are pretty o.k. too, but as I haven't heard them before, I got nothing to compare with. Summary: If youre into Destructo-Punk, dont hesitate on getting this 10" split, it shouldent dissapoint you.
