Well,
perverted fast punk from Italy has arrived. This band can be compared
to the infamous Murder Junkies, without GG Allin. The cover is a beautiful
element that warns you about their music and it will turn you on! Drugs, rape
and anger; the topics that make great songs and corporate labels won't
release. You will love this insane hardcore album. Check out: razorboy,
hate68 and amphetamine high.

Nerds
are evil, political incorrect and violent punkrock influenced by late
GG ALLIN and DWARVES. Musicwise these nerds are ok but the concept is
rather tasteless. It's loud and fast and fans of the aforementioned
band and artist may like it. If I'm into horrorpunk, I'd choose FRANKENSTEIN
DRAG QUEENS though.

Well,
let's see. The fact that I'm reviewing this is a tad bit ridiculous,
as this is nearly the exact opposite of everything I stand for musically
and at times morally...but anyway. Punk is all about open-mindedness
eh? Besides, I'm sure The Nerds would get a kick out of my being offended
by their lyrics and such...not that I really am. I'm certain most of
it is tonge-in-cheek (although perhaps not planted quite firmly enough).
This is blitzkrieg punk-rock, with the emphasis on the rock, done up,
I guess, in a Dwarves, Zeke, Antiseen kinda way (that's what others
are saying, I in fact know nothing of any of those bands). Fans of the
Confederacy of Scum will probably like this (also just what I've heard
and figured out through good old intuition). The cover is obviously
wonderful (sarcasm), and makes the Proteens/Peabodys split (see below)
look like some long-lost Beatles cover, in comparison. The fact that
the skull logo, seen on the cover, bears a confederate flag, is also
a little ridiculous. I sort of understand when southern bands display
it, and even to some extent northern bands (well not really) but an
Italian band? I mean, come on, you're not from America, you don't get
to have an opinion on the confederate flag, ya know? Anyway. A little
story. I sort of like The Misfits, I always dug their sound, but I was
literally scared to listen to their lyrics. I was afraid that constantly
listening to songs about death, decay, murder, mayhem, and other debauchery,
would lead to me, myself, and I becoming some sort of morally-perverse
human being. That being said, I can't really get into The Nerds with
lyrics such as, "My screwdriver in your pupil/ My knife up and down
your cunt", I mean, yeah I guess that's pretty scary and if you like
horror films and such stuff then that's right up your alley, but what
the hell must a person be like to sing those lyrics in the shower? I'd
much rather sing something along the lines of "Pixie sticks and soda
pop, all the sugar in the candy store/ May be sweet but not half as
neat as the girl whom I adore...", a little too wholesome for most,
but at least I won't end up a serial rapist just by listening to it.
Who knows, perhaps I'm just afraid to face my true carnal and immoral
instincts, but then again perhaps I just don't have any, and therefore
don't want to indulge them, being that they are non-existent. However,
perhaps I'm reading into this a bit too much. It's not that I'm offended,
just scared I guess. And if that makes me un-punk rock, then I never
was punk rock. But anyway. I do actually enjoy certain parts of this
CD. And one of those parts is, "Hate '68" a great anti-hippy song, and
the only place me and The Nerds can meet on the punk rock playground
and shake hands (without losing a finger I should hope). Any anti-hippy
song is good in my book. In fact the band is really at their best when
not being overly offensive (perhaps they are trying a little too hard?),
as songs like "I Don't Wanna Die," and "You're So Dumb," both barely
offensive, are also standout tracks. So, if you dig bands that would
have Gerry Atric from The Bulemics and Jeff Clayton from The Antiseen
write their liner notes then by all means check out The Nerds, as for
me, I'll stick to the bands that have Dick Clark write their liner notes...

As
if all that weren't enough, I've been trying to wrap my brain around
the increase in shitty porn and rape themes running through parts of
the rock 'n' roll scene. Are the NERDS trying to be shocking by calling
their new album Because She Didn't Want to Fuck and then featuring a
naked woman drenched in blood on the cover? Or do they really advocate
people to beat up or kill women who won't fuck them. Seriously, who
thinks that's cool or good or even okay? Write and let me know. Because
just like I can't comprehend who would think the energy policies (for
example) of the Bush administration are in the people's interest, I'm
having a hard time grasping why a band (a number of bands) would resort
to writing songs about beating up and killing women. The best I can
come up with is they can't get laid and can't write good rock 'n' roll
songs. They're frustrated 'cause no one wants to fuck 'em (maybe it's
your attitude toward girls...or maybe you're upset because you're actually
gay and you're afraid to let your friends know because then they won't
think you're cool anymore...which opens a whole other set of issues)
and they're frustrated because they can't write a worthwhile song, so
they resort to sex and violence rolled into one. In the end, it shows
they're fucking morons who could probably stand a good assfucking.

I have to admit, this is probably my
favourite album from Stardumb Records. It's not their typical sound
at all. Think The Dwarves meet Zeke meet Motorhead. The music is brilliant
- fast, raw and dangerous. The only thing that puts me off the album
is the art work on the cover, the title and the lyrics...hahaha, everything
but the music I guess. So you gotta be open minded when listening to
this as it is truely a good album. If their goal is to offend I think
they get it right. Good stuff!(8/10)

I'm
not impressed by "evil" punk rock. I don't like the type of punk rock
played by bands like Zeke and the Dwarves. And the Nerds from Italy
didn't make a fan out of me with their bad ass pretenses. They're on
Stardumb Records alongside other Italian pop punk favorites like Retarded
and the Popsters, but the Nerds are not on the same boat. Hailed as
"Italy's craziest band", their cover art depicts such scenes as a topless
woman's bloodied "corpse" (of course not literally), a man about to
be decapitated by an axe-welder, and another man in the crucifix position.
I suppose they wanted to try and offend feminists, death-penelty opponents,
and the religious community all at the same time. The lyrics, song titles,
well, you can probably guess. The complete lack of any witty or inspiring
lyrics prevented me from taking any interest in what they were saying.
Lots of swearing, some gore and death talk, and not much else. I was
able to crank it up and enjoy listening to the fast and in-your-face
punk rock, but despite that, I can't ever see myself picking this CD
to listen to from the hundreds of better choices of I have in my CD
collection. However, if you're into the Zeke or Dwarves-style nasty
punk rock with badass metal influences like Motorhead, Iron Maiden,
and early Metallica, then give the Nerds a go.

With music of ZEKE and lyrics of a
drunken, foreign GG ALLIN, the NERDS of Italy have definitely found
their place in the world of scumpunk. They give thanks to the likes
of Jeff Clayton(ANTiSEEN),King of Scum, and the rest of the Confederacy
of Scum. I guess they're the Italian branch of the Confederacy. Hell,
they've even got a small rebel flag on the cover to prove it. When you
first look at this CD, you pretty much know what you're in for. It's
got a topless punk rock chick laying on the ground covered in blood
and the name of the album is a bit disturbing to think about when you're
looking at the cover picture. The music is great and fast, the lyrics
are a bit cheesy but great in their own scumfuck way, and the pictures
are incredibly disturbing. I think they got their message across. So
take it from Bim Bim, King Taccio, The Boss, Monkey Motherfucker, and
me and go get this record if you're at all into the Scumfuck side of
things or just want to piss off the person next to you in line. . .
This is a classic! -LR

Debut de Èste grupo italiano que hace
punk-rock y que entre sus influencias citan a Dwarves, GG Allin, Zeke
